OUR VISION: CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Our vision is to make new clothes out of old clothes. This works particularly well with synthetic fibers because they degrade much more slowly than natural fibers. In the future, old clothes should therefore be our new raw material. However, we still have a long way to go before we can produce new yarns from old polyester fabrics. We stay on top of the latest international advances on the subject and work closely with our partners and suppliers to ensure that our funwear has the smallest possible ecological footprint.

RECYCLED PET

We make a large part of our fibers from recycled plastic bottles or buy REPREVE fibers directly from the Unify company. To ensure that all plastic is second-hand, Control Union controls the supply chain and certifies the resulting fibers with the Global Recycle Standard. Under the REPREVE brand, Unify also uses so-called "clean-ups" to ensure that plastic waste is collected from nature and fed back into the cycle.

DRINKING WATER WITHOUT CHEMICALS

Polluted water, polluted air and polluted soil - the global environmental pollution as a result of human activity is becoming increasingly clear to us and reduces our quality of life.

Bluesign certifies water and soil-friendly textile production - especially with regard to the chemicals used, which would otherwise have ended up in the water and thus in the soil and air. If these chemicals are not used in the first place, they cannot end up in the sewage system.

PFC FREE PRODUCTION

Exactly: PFC, for example, is a chemical that for a long time ensured that wastewater was released into nature, poisoning soil and drinking water. PFC contains phthalates, which have been shown to be carcinogenic. They are difficult to separate from water and cause developmental disabilities in those who ingest that water.
We wanted an alternative and consistently opted for PFC-free production. The impregnation that makes our fabrics breathable is made of Eco-Teflon. Zelan™ R3 is made from 60% plant-based renewable raw materials, with non-genetically modified organisms (GMO) and no substances from the food chain. Zelan™ R3 is USDA certified as a bio-based product.

TESTED POLLUTANT-FREE

Why still Oeko Tex? Better safe than sorry! If a textile item has been awarded the STANDARD 100 label, you can be sure that all components, including all threads, buttons and other accessories, have been tested for harmful substances. The product is certified according to the OekoTex standard and is therefore harmless to health.

LATEST TECHNOLOGIES

Even when Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon, part of his equipment consisted of 3M products. Today, 3M innovations can be found in almost all areas of life, the world of work, medicine and technology. No wonder, 51 basic technologies, 8,100 researchers and over 120,000 registered patents ensure this.... 3M invests more than $1 billion in research and development annually. We cannot do that, but we can ask for this offer, because only knowledge, experience and interdisciplinary thinking can solve the demanding tasks of our time.

FAIR TRADE

The key word here is the production conditions under which it is manufactured. It is far from enough to just buy innovative technologies! Our workers are the ones who breathe love into our products. Therefore they must have a good life. Otherwise love doesn't work. In our factories there are canteens, e-scooters as company vehicles, occupational safety and social security. Last but not least: one
comparably above average pay. This is certified to the factories by the BSCI standard.
Maintaining relationships with our seamstresses, sample technicians and factory owners is a top priority for us. This also has a lot to do with the love for our products! If you want to know more about it, you should definitely read our blog post. Join us on an exciting journey with Antje!
